"The BEACH ROVER II "
LAND ROVER 1949 Series 1 80" V8:

 

The Landy had not been on the road in 4 yrs.

Owned by a friend of mine who agreed to let me get it back on the road for my wedding

The 60th anniversary UJ bonnet:

Have also removed the front driving lights- will make these "quick release" for future use on trips.

New rear bars on the canvas frame:

Filling in the extra holes in the wings:

 

The BEACH-ROVER will have clear glass lenses with amber bulbs for the indicator, the original sidelights on the bulkhead will now be used.

Reinstating the grab rail:

Centre wiper removed- replaced with washer jet from Defender

Mounted with ali tube spacer to clear the wiper motor

Defender cubby box- rebuilt around the old heater unit (unidentified!)
Plan to change seats and Series 3 steering wheel.
